12 Days of Christmas, Day 4 - Candy Canes

Hello everyone!  I am back after a very, very hectic week and am sooo glad that all seems to be getting back to normal so I can focus on the more fun things in life...like my nails. :)

Today's nails are inspired by the ever yummy candy canes.  I have to admit, though, I prefer the cherry canes to the minty ones but really it's all good.

For today's nails I used a base of 2 coats of China Glaze Glistening Snow - this is so pretty with it's holographic glitters.  One day I will learn to take a blurry photo so I can show that off.  I then did freehand stripes using China Glaze Ruby Pumps for the red and a green glitter from Stripe Rite.  I usually don't do stripes freehand but I just got a huge set of nail art brushes in the mail and wanted to put them to good use.  On my stubby nail (which is growing!) I did stripes in rhinestones.  I picked up a cool tool at Sally Beauty the other day that makes placing rhinestones so, so easy.

I love these nails and they really shine and sparkle in a blinding way in the right light.  I just wish I would have been able to get my camera to pick it up.

31 Day Challenge, Day 15 - Delicate Print

Hello everyone!  Today is Delicate Print day and it's one of those days where I feel almost anything goes because it seems such an unfocused prompt.  So today's nails are a simple 2 coats of Julep Ivy (which came in my December Maven box) stamped with Sally Hansen Silver Streak and BM-314.  I also applied some rhinestones in random places but I think they're too big.

Turkey Day Means a Day Off from the Challenge

Since today is a holiday I am taking a holiday from the 31 Day Challenge.  I'm enjoying it so far but I found the first  days to be kind of restrictive.  I want to wear the colors I want. :P

So today I have a simple mani using 2 polishes from the OPI's James Bond collection.  I have a base of On Her Majesty's Secret Service which is oh my gosh purty.  Over that I've layered a little bit of The Living Daylights...and that's the whole thing.  It's sparkly and shiny and just pretty...but it was impossible to capture just how much sparkle there is in my photos.  So frustrating.

The first 2 pictures are with flash and the last is without.  If you notice a dent in my middle finger it's because I had a nail accident a couple days ago and it's barely holding on with a tea bag and glue bandage.

Tape is handy

I usually don't have the patience for tape manicures - I'm constantly ruining them by taping way too early in the drying process.  But, yesterday I managed to contain myself enough to do this.  It's a base of OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls with a stripe of Sinful Colors' Out of this World and a strip of L'oreal's The Queen's Ambition.  I was kind of dull looking when I finished so I topped it off with a light coat of Confetti's Ice Ice Baby.
